Twin City Days, Thursday, Sept. 5, through Saturday, Sept. 7. Festivities will kick with the Twin City Days Breakfast at 8 a.m. at Larry G. Crites Memorial Park, Ballpark Pavillion, 2232-2292 Old. Hwy. A, in Festus, featuring a challenge pitting Crystal City against Festus in a cornhole battle. The U.S. Senior Pickleball Midwest Regional Championships and Twin City Invitational will run from Sept. 5 through Sept. 8 at Jokerst Memorial Park, 525 S. Mill St., time is still TBD. The Festus Public Library will open its three-day book sale, and Seniors in the Park will round out the morning, with bingo, food and music from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Larry G. Crites Memorial Park. The tailgate kickoff event from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at MRV Banks, 1319 N. Truman Blvd., in Festus, will take place in the afternoon, and a Trivia Night event at 6:30 p.m. at Elks Lodge 1721, 4 Elks Club, in Festus, will round out the evening. Twin City Days, Thursday, Sept. 5, through Saturday, Sept. 7. The Sept. 6 events start with the annual four-person scramble golf tournament with registration at 7:30 a.m. and a shot-gun start at 9 a.m. at Crystal Highlands Golf Course, 3030 Hwy. 61, in Festus. From 4:30-6:30 p.m., families can go to Quonset Lanes, 2004 N. Truman Blvd, in Crystal City for free family bowling. There will be a wine-tasting event at 6 p.m. at Petit Paree, 228 E. Main St., in Festus. the annual free bike ride, Tour de Twin City Days, will be from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Crystal City Park parking lot, 1400 Dick Cook Drive, followed by a movie (“Barbie”) in the park. The Blues on the Bricks event from 6-11 p.m. at Mississippi Ave. in Crystal City will include food, drinks and live music by David Kalz opening for the band Anthology. A free pancake breakfast with donations accepted is on the schedule from 8-10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church of Festus-Crystal City, 113 Grand Ave., in Festus. The 5K run walk will start at 8 a.m. at Crystal City Park, 1400 Dick Cook Drive. The kids’ fishing tournament is from 8-11 a.m. at the Festus- Crystal City Conservation Club, 2567 Hwy. 61, south of Festus. On Festus Main Street there will be the Main Street Market craft and vendor show, a classic car show and a food court with a dizzying array of choices, all happening from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Crystal City Park will host a baby-crawling contest, kids’ games, sidewalk chalk drawing, free ice cream and the kids’ money pit all starting at 9 a.m. A grip strength challenge will take place from 9-11 a.m. at Athletico Physical Therapy, 1300 Veterans Blvd., in Festus. Find a new pet and safeguard the ones you already have at an animal adoption and vaccine clinic from 9 a.m. to noon at Crystal City Animal Control Facility, 110 Chestnut St., in Crystal City. Take part in Hot Wheels racing at 11 a.m. and noon at Twin City Toyota, 301 Autumn Ridge Drive, in Herculaneum. The final event of Twin City Days is a concert in the Larry G.
