George Portz Traditional Music Festival, music runs from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Larry G. Crites Memorial Park along Old Hwy. A in Festus. National and regional musicians will perform Bluegrass, Cajun, Irish and gospel music and clog dancers will perform. Festival includes craft vendors and food trucks. Entry fee is $15 per day for adults, with children age 12 and under free. Passes to cover both days may be purchased for $20 online, but service fees apply. Rescue the Firefighter, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., High Ridge McDonald’s, 2701 Ridge Point Drive. Help the High Ridge Fire Protection District raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association and save Firefighter Bo Bunton from the restaurant’s roof. Fourth Annual Northwest Homecoming Parade, 2 p.m., High Ridge Blvd., in High Ridge. The event is free, and the public is encouraged to attend. The route will move west, starting near the Aldi parking lot and ending at Hwy PP. The Spirit of Northwest Marching Band will march in the parade, plus first responders will lead and end the parade.
