Route 66 community meeting, 4-6 p.m., Genesis Church, 18401 Historic Route 66, Eureka. Doors open at 4 p.m. This is an informal meeting to introduce the Leader's Historic Route 66 magazine. Business owners in Wildwood, Eureka and Pacific and those along the route are encouraged to attend. The local magazine will commemorate 100 years of motoring history, along with a look at the future of the highway corridor. City speakers will also discuss Route 66 anniversary plans.

Free blood pressure checks, 11:15 a.m. to noon, the Timbers of Eureka, 1 Coffey Park Lane. The Eureka Fire Protection District will offer free blood pressure checks for seniors on the first Thursday of the month.

De Soto High School Homecoming Parade, 3 p.m. begins near Mahn Funeral Home, continues down Main Street to St. Louis Street and ends at the football field parking lot. The De Soto varsity football team plays Fredericktown High School at 7 p.m. Admission is $3 for adults and $1 for students from other districts. De Soto students are admitted for free. Stadium chair tickets are $15 per seat. The homecoming court will be recognized at approximately 6:20 p.m.
