The city of Arnold is seeking nominations for this year’s Arnold Days Parade grand marshal. The theme for this year’s parade is “Arnold Stand Together.”

Grand marshal nominees should be examples of those who help strengthen the Arnold community, said Karen Fay, the Parks and Recreation Department maintenance and procurement coordinator.

Arnold Days will be held Friday through Sunday, Sept. 19-21, with most events held at Arnold City Park on Bradley Beach Road off Jeffco Boulevard near the Meramec River.

The parade begins at 1 p.m. Sept. 21, at the Fox C-6 Service Center, 849 Jeffco Blvd., and proceeds north along Jeffco Boulevard to the festival grounds at Arnold City Park.

People may nominate a single person or a group for grand marshal, Fay said.

Nominations may be submitted to recreation supervisor Grace Rodgers by email at grodgers@arnoldmo.org, or at the Arnold Recreation Center, 1695 Missouri State Road. The deadline to submit a nomination is Friday, and the parks and rec department plans to announce the grand marshal next week.

“There are so many people out there, and we don’t want to miss out on naming someone who we should have thought of,” Fay said. “I think the people of Arnold know everyone who has helped the city, and we want them to be involved in the selection process.”

The city will sell advance carnival ride tickets at a discounted price. The tickets may be purchased for $3 each at the rec center’s front desk until 4 p.m. Sept. 19. Tickets will cost $4 each during the festival.

Carnival rides will operate from 5-10:30 p.m. Sept. 19; noon to 10:30 p.m. Sept. 20; and noon to 8 p.m. Sept. 21. Each ride requires a single ticket.

Carnival ride armbands, which allow the wearer unlimited rides from 1-4 p.m. Sept. 20 will be available that day for $25 each.

The city also is seeking volunteers for Arnold Days, said Ajsa Roach, parks and rec deputy director.

For more information or to volunteer, call 636-282-2380, go to arnoldmo.org or visit the parks and rec Facebook page.
