The 2019 Arnold Chamber of Commerce Eggstravaganza was attended by about 2,000 people. This year’s events will be held Saturday, April 1, at the Fox High School football field in Arnold.

The Arnold Chamber of Commerce Eggstravaganza will be held for the first time in three years.

The event is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 1, at the Fox High School football field, 751 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold.

The egg hunt, for children between ages 1 and 11, is expected to start at noon.

There is no admission fee.

“I think it is great that we are finally able to bring it back,” said Stephanie Engle, the chamber’s executive director.

The Eggstravaganza will have plenty of activities leading up to the egg hunt, including an inflatable obstacle course; balloon artists from Magic of Leland and Whiskers of St. Louis; the Easter Bunny and his friend, the chick.

In addition, community groups and nonprofit organizations that benefit children will staff 26 booths at the event, which had not been held since 2019 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“This is going to be my first time doing it,” said Engle, who became the chamber’s executive director in December 2021. “I am a little nervous having never been part of it. I just want it all to go smooth. I know a lot of people in the community are excited about it. I have received a lot of messages and positive feedback that we are doing it again.”

Engle said 20,000 eggs will be spread out on the football field for the egg hunt. Children will be divided by age groups, 1-2, 3-4, 5-6 and 7-10, and each group will hunt for eggs on a specific section of the field.

Most of the eggs will be filled with traditional Easter candy and small toys, but more than 100 of them will contain tickets that can be turned in for larger prizes. There will be two eggs for each group with a ticket to win a bicycle. Other prizes include outdoor toys, balls, sidewalk chalk, badminton sets and water guns.

Engle said the chamber also will hold raffles for children 11 and older for a chance to win one of three bicycles and other prizes.

“A lot of times older siblings will come with their younger siblings, and we wanted to have something for children who do not participate in the egg hunt,” she said. “The drawing will be held following the egg hunt.”

Engle said chamber members have told her that up to 3,000 people have attended previous Eggstravaganzas, with 800 children participating in the egg hunt.

“I’m really excited to see it in action,” Engle said. “My favorite thing in life is to see something you put so much into come to fruition. I feel like we have a good number of participants from community sponsors and nonprofit groups.”

Engle said ReMax Best Choice is this year’s title sponsor.
