Attendees to the Celebrating Women event will be treated to a night of dinner, games and more.

Join Leader Publications in celebrating local women and all they do for the community.

Tickets remain for the third annual Leader Celebrating Women event sponsored by the Twin City Area Optimist Club.

The event is scheduled for 6-10 p.m. Friday, March 6, at The Marquee on Main, 516 Bailey Road, in Crystal City. Tickets cost $40 each and include dinner catered by Kettelhut’s Smokehouse, dessert from Nothing Bundt Cakes, an open bar and games.

Tickets may be purchased through the Leader website, myleaderpaper.com, and at the Leader office, 503 N. Second St., in Festus.

This year’s theme is “Boots and Bling,” and attendees are invited to dress in western attire with a blingy twist.

Leader advertising manager Katelyn Mary Skaggs said this event will be both fun and inspirational.

“Whether you’re looking to feel inspired and uplifted and to celebrate local ladies, or whether you’re just looking for a fun night out, you should attend this event,” Skaggs said. “You should expect a very fun night with a welcoming and warm environment.”

This year’s charity partner for the event is Monarch Jewelry.

“The organization specifically sells jewelry and other crafts, and uses that money to help area women coming out of sex trafficking situations,” Skaggs said.

During the event, four women will be honored with Women of Impact awards.

“We have so many women who are behind the scenes making our community run, and things would not get done without them, so we really want to rectify that and honor them,” Skaggs said. “We’re really excited to honor four women again this year. Our four honorees last year are a part of the selection committee choosing our winners this year.”
