The Tanglefoot Creamery, a rolled ice cream shop in Festus, has new owners.

The business at 1160B E. Gannon Drive closed March 30 under its original owner, Michael Cords, and officially reopened April 20 under new owners Amanda and Zachary Hedrick of Park Hills.

The Hedricks, who have a daughter, Rilynn, 12, bought the business from Cords.

Amanda, 32, said Tanglefoot Creamery customers can expect to find the same kind of ice cream treats available before the change in ownership, but she and her husband plan to add items to the menu.

“We’ll continue to offer the rolled ice cream, but we’ll also add baked goods, breakfast sandwiches and coffee,” she said.

Amanda also said the space hasn’t changed much.

“We are doing some inside redecorating,” she said. “People can expect great customer service.”

She said Zachary, 33, has always wanted to open a business.

“This kind of fell into our laps,” she said. “Mike Mullery, who owns a property management company and owns the building, tipped us off to the opportunity.”

The Hedricks are renting the space from Mullery.

Amanda said she and her husband will employ some of their family members and will keep staff who worked at the business prior to the change.

She said Monday that hours had not been determined, but customers may visit the Tanglefoot Creamery Facebook page for hours and other information.

Amanda said the business plans to hold a grand opening on Saturday.
