Surendra Chinnam said his new business, Liquor Heaven, will soon open at 8648-8650 Commercial Blvd. in the Pevely Farms Shopping Center.
“We are hoping to open in two or three weeks,” Chinnam said Jan. 2.
Chinnam, who said he has homes in St. Louis and Kansas City, said he owns technology businesses, but never before owned a liquor store.
“This is my first location for a liquor store,” he said. “We have other businesses.”
Chinnam said he has a business partner, Kumar Thumati of Atlanta.
Liquor Heaven will offer a variety of adult beverages, Chinnam said.
“We have a wide selection of wines,” he said. “We have high-end scotches and whiskeys. We have all the beers.
“We have cigarettes, and we’re trying to get the lottery (tickets to sell),” he said. “We will have cigars. I am also trying to get Western Union money transfer (services).”
Chinnam said he plans to hire two or three employees to operate the business.
He said he chose to open the store in Pevely because he is impressed with the area.
“I like the location because this is calm and peaceful in Pevely,” Chinnam said. “The people are nice.”
He said Liquor Heaven will be open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.
