Eclectic Treasures and Gallery, 509 Brothers Ave., in Festus will cater to those who appreciate crystals and art.
The business is expected to open Saturday, March 22, and will carry a variety of tumbled stones and crystals, as well as jewelry and other items, said owners Adrienne and Jerry Williams Jr. of the Festus area.
Adrienne, a Barnhart native and breast cancer survivor, said she has always been a rockhound. She is also an artist, and while studying graphic design at Maryville University, she took a metalsmithing class and enjoyed it.
“It’s a very expensive hobby,” Adrienne said.
“She makes silver jewelry,” said Jerry, who grew up in Hillsboro. “She will make her art in the store.”
She considers Eclectic Treasures an all-inclusive cultural gift store with “a little bit of everything for everyone.” Originally a house, the Williamses purchased the building on Jan. 31, 2024, and converted it into a store, although they kept the kitchen to give it a welcoming and homey feel where people can sit down, talk and drink tea. A sign on the store’s door offers “peace to all who enter.”
Adrienne said the store not only has a large selection of stones and crystals of all shapes, sizes and colors, but also raw and carved minerals. Some are reactive minerals so they plan to build a UV closet for those so they can truly shine.
In addition to her colorful silver rings, bracelets and necklaces, the store also carries a large assortment of crystal stone bracelets.
She said the store sells Peruvian framed butterflies, adding that the butterflies are raised in butterfly farms in the Amazon and once the butterflies die naturally, they are collected and placed in frames by local artisans. All the frames are labeled by a licensed biologist with the scientific name of the butterflies. None are endangered.
The shop also sells books, oracle and tarot cards and its own line of incense, soap and candles.
“We work with people locally to make the scents,” she said.
Jerry said the store has a good selection of bulk herbs, including herbs for teas or altar offerings.
Adrienne said the gallery will give local artists a place to show their work, and she is looking for local artists to fill the store’s gallery room. Some ceramics her father-in-law, Jerry Williams Sr., created are featured already.
She said the shop also includes an event space for crafting and art and wellness classes, and she and her husband hope to extend the outside patio for outdoor activities.
Store hours are noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. For more information about Eclectic Treasures and Gallery, find it on Facebook or visit eclectictreasuresandgallery.com.
The Williamses, who have two teenage children, own other businesses that specialize in power washing, mowing and Christmas lighting. They also have a cigar lounge in the works for Crystal City.
