Arnold is getting a new restaurant.
The establishment, called Nowhere, is expected to open late this month or early in March at 3946 Jeffco Blvd., in the space that used to house the Local House Restaurant and Bar, which moved to another location in November.
The Local House is now located at 2236 Michigan Ave., where a 54th Street Grill restaurant used to operate.
Nowhere co-owner Justin Gibson said the new restaurant will include dining and bar areas. However, the space will feature a drastically different decor.
“It is getting a pretty good facelift,” Gibson said. “The overall space and the way it is set up will not change much, but the decor and feel for the whole place will be a lot different. (The decor) is hard to describe, but there is a lot going on.”
Gibson also said the atmosphere at Nowhere will differ greatly from the other restaurant and bar he and his partners own – DB’s Sports Bar at 1615 S. Broadway in the Soulard area in St. Louis, which caters to customers 21 and older
He said Nowhere, on the other hand, will cater to families
“(Nowhere) will be more family friendly,” Gibson said. “We have been looking to (expand) into the county for a couple of years now. We have been in the city for a long time. We want to bring our product down here where we think it will stand out from other places.”
Gibson said the restaurant will serve pizzas, hamburgers, steaks, appetizers and other items.
“The menu will be pretty different (from DB’s),” he said. “There will be some things taken from (DB’s), but not too many. There will be a lot of new things, new originals.”
He said Nowhere will accommodate approximately 135 customers, and it will have between 30 to 40 employees.
Gibson said Nowhere will be open from 10:30 a.m. to midnight on Sundays through Thursdays and from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
“We have had numerous locations in downtown (St. Louis) and south (St. Louis) County,” he said. “This isn’t our first foray into this.”
