Aldi plans to open a new store in part of what used to be a Shop ‘n Save at 1025 Crossroads Place in High Ridge.
The new Aldi store is expected to open Oct. 30, said Rob Jeffries, the company’s O’Fallon division vice president.
In June, Aldi began renovating 13,785 square-feet of the building, Jeffries said.
The Shop ‘n Save that had been housed in the building closed in late 2018.
“The new (Aldi) store will feature open ceilings, natural lighting, environmentally friendly building materials and additional storage for even more fresh produce, meat and dairy,” Jeffries said.
He said one of the factors the company considers when selecting a new store location is “high daily traffic volume.”
“Bottom line, we want to be conveniently located for our shoppers, and we believe High Ridge will accomplish just that,” Jeffries said.
He said the store will have five aisles and similar look and layout to other area Aldi stores.
Jeffries said the store will carry organic meats, produce, cheeses, seafood, gluten-free products, wine and more.
“Additionally, the High Ridge Aldi store will offer Aldi Finds, which are limited-time, specialty items ranging from unique foods and home goods to unexpected finds like gardening essentials and pet accessories,” Jeffries said. “New products are released each week and are typically tied to a theme or season.”
He said the store will be open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. everyday.
Jeffries said the store will employ between 15 and 17 people. Anyone looking to apply may do so online at careers.aldi.us.
Jeffries said the High Ridge store is one of 70 new Aldi stores scheduled to open by the end of 2020. He said Aldi currently has more than 2,000 stores in 36 states.
