William Robert “Bob” Wehner, 83, of San Antonio, Texas, died Feb. 23, 2015, in San Antonio. Mr. Wehner, a lifelong salesman, was the owner of a Dairy Queen franchise in St. Louis. He was a 1949 graduate of Festus High School and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Harp and Shamrock Society, Submarine Veterans Association, San Antonio Regional Wine Guild, San Antonio Writers Guild and the Porter Loring Men’s Grief Support Group (known as R.O.M.E.O., for “Rowdy Old Men Eating Out.”) He also was a founding member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in San Antonio. Born May 8, 1931, in Festus, he was the son of the late Georgia Pauline (Harris) and Bill Wehner. He was preceded in death by his wife: Kay (Alexander) Wehner, whom he married in 1955.
He is survived by three sons: Mark, David and Todd; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sister: Billie Jean Finley.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 21, at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in San Antonio. Memorials may be made to the hospice organization of the donor’s choice.
