Theresa C. Schreckenberg, 78, of Hillsboro died Nov. 8, 2019. Mrs. Schreckenberg a longtime employee of Hillsboro Title Co. and worked in the construction dispersing department. She was a member of and volunteer at Good Shepherd Catholic Church and enjoyed travel, cooking and sewing. Born May 23, 1941, in Cape Girardeau, she was the daughter of the late Mary (Eeftink) and Frank Brockmeyer.
She is survived by her husband: Joseph P. Schreckenberg; a daughter: Cynthia (Kevin) Culbertson of Lebanon, Ind.; three sons: Gary (Laura) Schreckenberg of Hillsboro, Daniel (Angela) Schreckenberg of St. Louis and Gregory Schreckenberg of St. Louis; eight grandchildren: Kieran, Laci, Grayson, Caleb, Benjamin, Rylie, Emily and Alexandria; six sisters: Bert (Paul) Essner of Benton, Frieda Seyer of Cape Girardeau, Julie (Don) James and Dot (Paul) Summers, both of Cape Girardeau; and Fran (Joe) Willenbring and Millie (Charlie) Seyer, both of Jackson; and a sister-in-law: Ruth Brockmeyer of Hawk Point.
She was preceded in death by a brother: Al Brockmeyer; a sister: Sister Rose Francis Brockmeyer; and a brother-in-law: Joe Seyer.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, at Robert D. Brown Funeral Home, 103 Fourth St., in Hillsboro. Prayer service will be from 10:15-11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, at the funeral home, followed immediately by a funeral Mass at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 703 Third St., Hillsboro, and burial at Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery. Following the burial ceremony, a reception will be held at the Hillsboro KC, 9330 Old Hwy. 21. Memorials may be made to the Good Shepherd School Endowment Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert D. Brown Funeral Home.
