Stanley Arthur Hasty, 73, of Pevely died Jan. 8, 2021, at John Cochran VA Hospital in St. Louis. Mr. Hasty was a retired security officer for Hutson Services in St. Louis and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Herculaneum. He served in the U.S. Army. Born Dec. 9, 1947, in Pevely, he was the son of the late Juanita (Owens) and George Hasty Sr.
He is survived by two daughters: Shelley Blankenship of Pevely and Susan (Peter) Weidner of De Soto; a son: Scottie (Janet) Hasty of Janesville, Wis.; two sisters: Katherine Smick of Carlyle, Ill., and Pamela (“Butch”) Danco of Illinois; two brothers: George Hasty Jr. of Illinois and Jack (Peggy) Hasty of Kentucky; seven grandchildren: Angelica Huffar, Scott (Kayla) Hasty, Isabel Blankenship and Dessie, Kaitlyn, Bethanie and Richard Weidner; a great-grandson: Robert “Bobby” Huffar; and numerous family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by two sisters: Georgia Anne Medley and Juanita Faye Cooper; and a son-in-law: Carl Smick.
Memorial gathering will be from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1000 McNutt School Road, in Herculaneum. Private graveside service with full military honors will be at the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks, officiated by Bishop Andrew Miller. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Homes, Festus.
