Shirley Helen Brown, 80, of Imperial died August 23, 2019, at her home. Mrs. Brown was retired from LMC IND, where she worked for 23 years, and was an active member of First Baptist Church in Horine, where she enjoyed working in the children's nursery. In her younger days, she was an active member of the Hancock School District PTA, and served as a foster parent for six children. She enjoyed working in her yard and garden, and spending time with her family. She was born Nov. 21, 1938, the daughter of the late Doris (Wessels) and Elden Robison. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years: Robert E. Brown.
She is survived by eight children: L. David (Rhonda) Carver of Kingsville, Dennis D. (Liz) Carver of Blue Springs, Curtis D. (Lisa) Carver of Lee’s Summit, and Kerri M. (Joe) Lammert, Rhonda, Connie, Robert Jr. and Roxanne, all of St. Louis; six siblings: Marie, Carol, Sondra, Sue, Elden and Donald; a sister-in-law: Renee Austin; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister: Elsa Morrison; and a brother: James C. “J.C.” Robison.
A celebration of life is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at First Baptist Church of Horine, 2339 School Drive, in Pevely, officiated by Pastor Chris Goodwin. Arrangements are under the direction of St. Louis Cremation.
