Roger Alexander Poliette Sr., 75, formerly of Hillsboro, died Feb. 9, 2017, in Fort Myers, Fla. Mr. Poliette was the owner and operator of Poliette Painting Co. in Hillsboro until his retirement in 1994. He was born Nov. 25, 1941, in St. Louis, the son of the late Clifford and Myrtle (Klingler) Poliette.
He is survived by his wife: Sandra L. (Rose) Poliette; six children: Constance (Greg) Nickelson, Jane Daphne Jennewein, Donna (Ryan) Tucker-Hunt, Roger (Angie) Poliette Jr., William Poliette and Gerald (Jennifer) Poliette; two stepchildren: Rhonda (Jeremy) Sharp and Pammy Neels; a sister: Mary (Jerry) Nieder; a brother: Donald (Sharon) Poliette; 24 grandchildren: Suzanne, Amanda, Gregory and Ashley Nickelson; Jennifer Seckel; Jessica McClanahan; Tessa Poliette; Steven, Curtis and Richard Tucker Jr.; Sara Russell; Julianna and Ryan Hunt II; Katie Poliette; Megan Brown; Jake, Kristen, William, Ivy and Cody Poliette; Alyszia Dewitt; Katelyn Nichols; Adam Poliette; and Katelyn Mitchell; 17 great-grandchildren: Kent and Sadie Emmons; Evan and Austin Naeger; Blake McClanahan; Emma, Jackson, Kolton, Ellianna, Lucy and Richard Tucker III; Izabela, Laila and Aubri Russell; Bradlee Foster; and Easton and Lillyana Brown; numerous nieces and nephews; and his dog, Harley.
He was preceded in death by a sister: Jane (Poliette) Dace.
Visitation is scheduled from 2-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, at Kutis Affton Chapel, 10151 Gravois Rd., in St. Louis County. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis Funeral Homes.
