Joseph L. Warden, 77, of De Soto died Sep. 4, 2019, at the Hillcrest Care Center in De Soto. Mr. Warden worked in quality control for Metal Container Corp. He was a lifetime member of Knights of Columbus 1185. He enjoyed square dancing, camping and traveling. Born Oct. 16, 1941, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Leonard I. and Mary Evelyn (Courtois) Warden. He was preceded in death by his wife: Agnes I. (Ganninger) Warden.
He is survived by his wife: Judy (Haas) Warden; a daughter: Lisa M. (Bill) Polley of De Soto; a son: Michael (Selena) Warden of Frisco, Texas; two stepchildren: Chris (Kristina) Agers of St. Clair and Cheri (John Hardin) Agers of De Soto; two siblings: John R. (Linda) Warden of De Soto, Ruth Marie Warden of De Soto; six grandchildren: Christopher (Stephanie) Polley, Cody (Meghan) Polley, Caitlin Polley, Kaleb Warden, Benjamin Hanko and Joshua Hanko; and two great-grandchildren: Zeke and Crosby.
He is preceded in death by a sister: Mary Ann (Ed) Thost.
Visitation will be held from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Sep. 8, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main, in De Soto. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Sep. 9, at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Derry Bowling. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
