Joan M. (Meyer) Secrease, 85, of Cedar Hill died Aug. 8, 2019, in Fenton. Mrs. Secrease worked at Sunline Brands making SweetTarts for 29 years. A spunky woman, she had a passion for scary movies and visited the theater weekly. She also loved to go bowling and float in the pool on sunny days, and enjoyed her time camping on the Huzzah River and visiting Gulf Shores, Ala. She always looked forward to the holidays, when her family would all be together. She loved her dogs and had the reputation of doing anything for anyone. Born June 15, 1934, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Edna (Meinelt) Meyer. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years: Donald E. Secrease.
She is survived by five children: Don (Paige) Secrease, Gary (Diana) Secrease, Sheri Uthoff, Kim (Wayne) Jasper and Scott (Jan) Secrease; six grandchildren: six great-grandchildren; and many other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: Fred Meyer and Ronald Meyer; and a son-in-law: Mark Uthoff.
Memorial visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy 30, in Cedar Hill. Memorials may be made to Feed My People, 3295 Ottomeyer Road, High Ridge, 63049; or to the Open Door Animal Sanctuary, 6065 Duda Road, House Springs, 63051. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
