Gerald Wayne “Jerry” Collins, 65, of Lakewood, Wash., formerly of De Soto, died April 27, 2019, in Puyallup, Wash. Mr. Collins was retried from Manheim Seattle, an auto sales and transport company. He also was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He loved the Seattle Seahawks football team; his two cats: Stormy and Calvin; and spending time with his family. Born Nov. 17, 1953, in De Soto, he was the son of the late Roy Edmond and Mary Cecilia (Courtaway) Collins.
He is survived by his wife: Roberta (Rogers) Collins of Lakewood, Wash.; five children: Jason Collins of De Soto, Jenny Collins of De Soto, Audrey Wills of Washington, Melody Hurley of Oklahoma and Taylor Collins of Washington; four siblings: Carol (Denny) Andrasko of Festus, Thomas (Annette) Collins of Oklahoma, Charles Collins of Festus and Debbie (Paul) Boren of De Soto; an uncle: Paul “Junior” Courtaway of Festus; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many special nieces and nephews; two special cousins: Darlene Kavanaugh and Allen Guenther; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by four siblings: Ann Kauhana, Jeannie Keith, Steve Collins and Paul Benton; and four grandparents: Hattie and Thomas Courtaway and Flora and Roscoe Collins.
Memorial services will be from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, July 27, at Knights of Columbus, 320 N. Adams St., in Festus. A private burial will be in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to Audrey Wills through the Jerry Collins Memorial Fund on Facebook.
