Gerald Donald Francis, 76, of Festus died June 12, 2019, at his home. Mr. Francis was a retired from the GM assembly plant in Wentzville where he was an autoworker. He also was a longtime member and treasurer of the Festus Horseshoe Club. Born May 21, 1943, in Fredericktown, he was the son of the late Anna (Secrease) and Gilbert Francis. He was preceded in death by his wife: Norma Lou (Douglas) Francis.
He is survived by two daughters: Mary Frye of St. Louis and Lori (Kelvin) Howell of Festus; three sons: Ben (Penny) Francis of Pevely, Mike Francis of Pevely and Lloyd (Karen) Francis of Rolling Meadows, Ill.; two sisters: Bernadine (the late Bob) Tucker of Fredericktown and Cathy (Roger) Parsley of Fredericktown; two brothers: Frank Francis of Springfield and Eugene Francis of Fredericktown; 12 grandchildren: Steven Francis, Benji Francis, Samantha Francis, Tabitha (Brandon) Turner, Kenny Sexton, Beth (Gary) Eckert, Genny (Frank) Hurst, Angie (Aaron) Fuller, Jason Howell, Josh Howell, Kaley Francis and Timmy Francis; 12 great-grandchildren; and Diane Francis of Fredericktown.
He also was preceded in death by two sisters: Juanita (the late Elmer) Burke and Pauline Francis; and three brothers: John Francis, Tom (the late Lucille) Francis and Marsh Francis.
Visitation was today (June 14) at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus, followed by graveside services were at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City, officiated by Ben Francis. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
