Edith Marcella Bailey, 81, of De Soto died February 12, 2020, at The Villas in De Soto. Mrs. Bailey had been a housekeeper at The Villas before her retirement. She was a member of the De Soto VFW Post 1831 Ladies Auxiliary. She also enjoyed reading, especially murder mysteries, and visiting casinos, playing bingo, and watching the TV soap opera, “The Young and the Restless.” Born Nov. 10, 1938, in Potosi, she was the daughter of the late Theresa M. (DeClue) and Festus J. LaLumondiere.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Calvin “Red” Russell Bailey.
She is survived by a son: Richard (Shelly) Boyer of Ste Genevieve; a daughter: Donna (Dale) Greenhill of De Soto; two stepsons: Raymond Bailey of De Soto and Earl (Joan) Bailey of De Soto; a stepdaughter: Carol Pryor of De Soto; three brothers: George (Bess) LaLumondiere of Potosi, Joseph (Virginia) LaLumondiere of Potosi and David LaLumondiere of Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister: Helen Francis of De Soto; two grandchildren: Jennifer (Larry) Jordan of De Soto and Keith (Tabatha) Missey of De Soto; five great-grandchildren: Allison, Dylan, Kayden, Macie and Makenzi; a great-great-grandchild: Zander; and a special friend: Gordon Schutte of St Clair.
She was preceded in death by a stepson: Wayne Bailey; a stepdaughter: Vicki Gaines; and two sisters: Rose Thiele and Catherine Boyer.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the funeral services at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 14, at Mahn Funeral Home, 900 N. Main St., in De Soto, with Chaplain Cody Alley officiating. Burial will be in Peaceful Ridge Cemetery in De Soto.
