Dorothy Anna Boettger, 95, of Festus died April 23, 2021, at Crystal Oaks Nursing Center in Festus. Mrs. Boettger was a solderer at the Scruggs manufacturing plant. She enjoyed camping, crocheting, cake decorating, ceramics, bowling, playing rummy and spending time with her family. She was a member of Our Lady Catholic Church in Festus. Born May 3, 1925, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Julia (Geimer) and William Winkler.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Wilford Boettger.
She is survived by a daughter: Lillian (Paul) Flynn of De Soto; a daughter-in-law: Marianne Boettger of Galesburg, Ill.; five grandchildren: Angie (Chuck) Bailey of Festus, Aaron (Sarah) Flynn of De Soto, Alicia (Chris) Peters of Festus, Christina (Adam) Gaebel of Quincy, Ill., and John (Becky) Boettger of Pevely; nine great-grandchildren Alex, Elissa, Evan and Conner Bailey, Mackenzie and Tyler Peters, Austin Flynn, Steven (Jessica) Bruns and Madeline Boettger; two great-great grandsons: Gabriel and Corvin Bruns; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son: John Boettger; and four siblings.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 26, at Our Lady Catholic Church, 1550 St. Mary’s Lane, in Festus, officiated by Father Jeffrey Maassen. Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memorial Garden in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to the Crystal Oaks Foundation. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home, Festus.
