Delmar Leroy James , 70, of House Springs died Au. 3, 2019. Mr. James was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a caring and soft-spoken man who enjoyed spending his free time bowling and watching NASCAR. Born Sept. 24, 1948, in Poplar Bluff, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Ruth (Shackleford) James.
He is survived by his significant other: Donna James; one child: Terri Fuda of Litchfield, Ill.; two stepchildren: Kenneth Holke of High Ridge and Tracy Pingleton of Cedar Hill; three grandchildren: Alicia Pingleton, Ashleigh Pingleton and Dylan Fuda; three siblings: Jean (Warren) Schreiner, Ron (Ann) James and Ruth (John) Martinuk; and many other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Ed Burhman.
A graveside service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks, 2900 Sheridan Road, in St. Louis County. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 9370 Olive Blvd., St. Louis 63132-3253. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary in Cedar Hill.
