Cynthia Ann O’Neal, 84, of De Soto died Sept. 11, 2020, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. O’Neal was born Aug. 12, 1936, in Washington County, the daughter of the late Henry and Mary Rose (Coleman) Boyer. She was preceded in death by two husbands: William Higginbotham and James O’Neal Sr.
She is survived by eight children: Belinda (Shay) Everett of Highland, Ill., Mary (Marshall) Burbridge of Shawnee, Kan.; Sheila (Robert) Sanders of Mesa, Ariz., Tina Mueller of Bonne Terre, Jean (Mark) Sherrill of Cape Girardeau; Jan (Dale) Hawkins of Bonne Terre; Mark (Michelle) Higginbotham of Farmington and Marsha (Ted) Calvert of St. Joseph; three sisters: Rita (Ed) Seyfarth, Margaret Yarbrough and Virginia Schutte, all of De Soto; two brothers: John (Grace) Boyer and Everette (Diane) Boyer, both of De Soto; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her stepfather: Kenny Silvey; five sisters: Lucille Guenther, Cecelia Coleman, Louise Mendenhall, Elizabeth Bourbon and Theresa Sampson; and a brother: Joseph Boyer.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, officiated by Father Alexander Anderson. Burial is in Calvary Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made in the form of Masses. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
