Craig Douglas Akers, 57 of Richwoods died July 15, 2019. Mr. Akers served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the Patriot Guard and the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed guns and computers, riding dirt bikes on dirt tracks and riding street bikes, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. Born Oct. 4, 1961, in St. Louis, he was the son of Lester Akers of Richwoods and Anna Quinn of St. Louis.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife: Pam; a son: Shawn (Amanda) Hornbeck of St. Peters; two daughters: Jackie (Jason) Huncovsky of Dittmer and Jennifer (Mike) Maxwell of Richwoods; and a brother: Rodney (Kathy) Akers of Sullivan.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Monday, July 22, at Mahn Funeral Home, 900 N. Main St., in De Soto. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 23, at the funeral home. Graveside services with full military honors will be in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
