Charleen A. “Charmie” Carron, 81, of Bloomsdale died July 23, 2019, at her home. Mrs. Carron was a member of the Eastern Star and the Jefferson County Square Dancing Club. She had a lust for learning and earned an associates degree in 2007. She was an adventurer extraordinaire and enjoyed horseback riding, painting, crocheting, sewing and quilting, reading, traveling, gardening, being outdoors, and laughing. She served as president of the PTA in Bloomsdale Elementary and was a Girl Scout leader for many years. Born Sept. 25, 1937, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Fred William and Amelia C. (Schwob) Hairer.
She is survived by her husband: Jim Carron of Bloomsdale; two daughters: Marina (Travis) Moore of Farmington and Cynthia Bowen of Bloomsdale; three grandchildren: Devon, Kevin and Jonathan; a brother: Bryan “Hoppy” Hairer of Bloomsdale; two stepdaughters: Terri (Lynn) Murray of Perry County and Mary (John) Adams of Minnith; four stepsons: Jim (Karen) Carron, Jr. of Bloomsdale, Bruce (Annette) Carron of Bloomsdale, Darryl (Angela) Carron of Bloomsdale and Charles Carron of Farmington; 16 step-grandchildren; 55 step-great-grandchildren; and six step-great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandson: Joshua Moore; and two brothers: Eugene Hairer and Russell Hairer.
A funeral service was held July 26 at Basler Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve, officiated by the Rev. Richard Wiskus. Burial was in the Concord Cemetery in Bloomsdale.
Memorials may be made to S.P.I.N Youth Ministries at First Freewill Baptist Church in Farmington. Arrangements were under the direction of Basler Funeral Home.
