Burnetta Ellen Barnett, 82, of Hillsboro died Aug. 6, 2019, at her home. Mrs. Barnett enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. Born May 17, 1937, in Chloride, she was the daughter of the late Mary (Whited) and Arthur Robison. She was preceded in death by her husband: Elder Coy “Wesley” Barnett.
She is survived by two daughters: Loretta (Steven) Mullins of Festus and Nancy (the late Rick) Pruett of Park Hills; a son: Wesley Landon Barnett of Columbia; a brother: Theodore (Gloria) Robison of Georgia; two sisters: Velda (Larry) Moore of Springfield and Marcella (Doug) Capps of St. Louis; nine grandchildren: Jason (Sarah) Barnett, Rachel (Matt Primo) Davis, Mark Davis, Bryan (Sonja) Turley, Wesley (Kate) Turley, Tara Barnett, Carrie (Bob) Heyn, Holly Garcia and Nathan Turley; 12 great-grandchildren: Jacob Cortez, Gavin Turley, Ashley (RJ) McNail, Julia Barnett, Coy Turley, Ethan Primo, Audrey Turley, Taylor Medders, Evyn Medders, Zoe Heyn, Rasai Barnett-Senecal and Aliyah Davis; and numerous other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by a daughter: Elizabeth Ellen Davis; four brothers: Harold Robison, LeRoy Robison, John Robison and Arthur Robison; and three sisters: Alma Dantzler, Udelle Robison and Iolene Cantrell.
A funeral service was held Aug. 10 at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus, officiated by Chaplain Mark McMullin. Burial was in the Barnett Family Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation or the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
