An Iowa man was found not guilty on two charges Friday in a Boone County child molestation case, while jurors failed to reach verdicts on two other charges, according to court records.
Fred Lynn Fox, 55, was charged in Boone County in April 2024 with two counts of second-degree child molestation involving children younger than 12, one count of enticing a child and one count of sexual misconduct involving a child.
After four days of trial proceedings, jurors found Fox not guilty of one count of second-degree child molestation involving a child younger than 12 and one count of sexual misconduct involving a child.
The court also reduced Fox’s bond to $25,000 cash or surety. Conditions of his bond include no contact with the alleged victims or their family members and not being present at their homes.
Court documents alleged Fox molested and attempted to rape children in Iowa and during visits to Missouri. Fox was extradited to Boone County from Iowa in August 2024 and had been held without bond in the Boone County Jail since then, according to previous KOMU 8 reporting.
A status hearing is scheduled for June 22.
