Eureka Police are seeking stealing charges against a 56-year-old Wildwood man who allegedly lrented equipment from Eureka Rental without paying the fee he owed.
Police were dispatched at about 12:05 p.m. Aug. 23 to the Shell gas station, 100 Old Town Drive, in Eureka, after the Eureka Rental owner spotted the suspect there, the report said.
Eureka Rental alleged the man had rented a walk-behind bobcat, a side cutter and an excavator but had not paid the $2,131 rental fee. He also allegedly returned the equipment with more than $7,000 worth of damage done to the items, the report said.
The Wildwood man told police he had turned over the claim on the damaged property to his insurance company, the report said.
Capt. David Wilson said no one was arrested, but Eureka Police have filed for a warrant against the man through the St. Louis Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
