Arnold Police arrested a man and woman for alleged possession of drugs and child endangerment after they were found passed out in a car parked outside McDonald’s, 2005 Richardson Road. A 7-year-old and a 1-year-old child were also found inside the car, Lt. Clinton Wooldridge said.

Police were called at 8:02 p.m. Oct. 12 to the restaurant after the 7-year-old was seen walking around the 2005 Ford Focus the man and woman were inside. When officers arrived, they found a 22-year-old Fredericktown man and a 26-year-old Robertsville woman unconscious in the front seats. They also found the two children, who are from Robertsville, in the car, according to the report.

Officers also allegedly found a spoon and needle on the man’s lap. In addition, they also allegedly found a substance that appeared to be Fentanyl and more drug paraphernalia, the report said.

The adults were arrested and transported to the Police Station, where they were booked and later released pending application for warrants. Depending on the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the man and woman through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, as well as endangering the welfare of a child, Lt. Clinton Wooldridge said.

The children were picked up by a grandparent, and a report about the case was forwarded to Children’s Division, Wooldridge said.
