Deputy on patrol finds evidence of theft under way at Imperial business – but thief is missing

 

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a theft from a home in the 2000 block of Walden Lane in the Festus area. Items worth about $2,900 were stolen in the burglary, which happened between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. Dec. 11, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

The victim told investigators that when he returned home, he found his front door forced open and later discovered his garage bay door had been forced open. Stolen items included a 32-inch TV, three laptop computers, an Xbox gaming system and a Ruger handgun, the report said.

On Dec. 20, Sgt. Matthew Moore of the Sheriff’s Office said no items had been recovered and no arrests had been made. Anyone with information is urged to call the Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau at 636-797-5515.
