Arnold Police are seeking two men who allegedly broke into a locker at the Arnold Recreation, took keys from the locker and stole an SUV from the parking lot. The 2020 Ford Edge was valued at about $20,000, Arnold Police reported.

Police were called to the rec center, 1695 Missouri State Road, on Dec. 27 after the victim, a 60-year-old St. Louis man, discovered his keys and SUV were missing. The man said he arrived at the rec center at about 5:15 p.m., put his belongings in the locker, which had a lock on it, and then used the indoor pool. When he returned to the locker room at about 6:10 p.m., he found the lock had been forced open, the report said.

The man said he did not realize anything had been stolen from the locker until he went outside and discovered he no longer had his keys and his SUV was missing, Arnold Police reported.

Two men were seen in surveillance video entering the men’s locker room at 5:58 p.m., and leaving it at 6:01 p.m. The men then allegedly were seen getting into the Edge and driving away, the report said.

As of Jan. 6, the SUV had not been recovered, and the two men in the surveillance video had not been identified, Detective Lt. Jason Valentine said. Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
