The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating recent thefts at two homes in the Raintree Plantation subdivision in the Hillsboro area.

Both thefts were reported July 12, and the victims said they believed the thefts occurred sometime July 10, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

At about 8:50 p.m. July 12, the Sheriff’s Office got a call about a theft at a home on Shiloh Drive in the Raintree subdivision. The victim reported that two power drills, a power screw driver, a circular saw, a sawzall, a flashlight, two batteries, a charger and a beach bag, altogether valued at $700, were stolen, the report said.

The victim said the tools were stolen out of his garage, after he had left the garage door open, according to the report.

While the deputy was investigating that case, a neighbor reported that a Briggs and Stratton power washer had been stolen from his home on Lincoln Drive, the report said.

He said the power washer, valued at $300, was stolen from his driveway, according to the report.

As of Thursday (July 16), the stolen items had not been recovered, and there were no suspects or arrests, said Capt. Ron Arnhart of the Sheriff’s Office.

Anyone with information about the thefts is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
