police investigation 2

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary at a home in the 4000 block of Lakewood Drive south of De Soto. Nearly $7,000 in tools and other items were stolen from the home, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

The victim told investigators he had not been at the home since about Aug. 12 and when he returned there on Sept. 10, he found numerous items missing. It looked like the culprit entered the home through a garage door and stole items from the garage, the report said.

Stolen items included a paint sprayer, a generator, a table saw, several tool boxes and miscellaneous tools. In all, the stolen items were valued at $6,868, according to the report.

As of Sept. 16, the stolen items had not been recovered, and no arrests had been made, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Grant Bissell said. He asks anyone with information about the burglary to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
