This home on Bandstand Lane in Cedar Hill was destroyed by fire.

A home in the 6600 block of Bandstand Lane in Cedar Hill was destroyed by fire July 2. One man lived in the home and safely escaped on his own, said Chief Mick Fischer of the Cedar Hill Fire Protection District.

He said the fire started in the living room and appeared accidental. The Missouri Fire Marshal's Office and the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office investigated the cause and ruled it undetermined.

Fischer said Cedar Hill Fire got a call about the fire at 7:31 p.m., and firefighters arrived on the scene by 7:36 p.m. Crews brought the fire under control by 8 p.m. and stayed on the scene until 11:11 p.m.

The High Ridge, Eureka and Hillsboro Fire protection districts helped with the call. Big River Ambulance also was on the scene, Fischer said.
