A 35-year-old Imperial man is suspected of stealing items worth more than $10,000 from Five Star Auto Body. He also is suspected of stealing a trailer from RHR Custom Automotive in Pevely, authorities reported.

Investigators believe that at about 11 p.m.. Oct. 31 the suspect hooked the white box trailer at RHR, 8378 Commercial Blvd., to a black Dodge dually pickup and drove away with it. He is believed to have driven the pickup and trailer to Five Star, 1535 Big Bill Road, at about 1 a.m. Nov. 1 and cut the lock off a trailer parked on the north side of that shop, the report said.

The man then allegedly stole a 2021 KTM 85 dirt bike, a Honda generator, a Widget air compressor and motocross gear from the trailer at the Arnold business. Those items were valued at $10,200. An estimated value for the trailer was not provided, according to the report.

Detective Lt. Jason Valentine said that St. Charles County Police arrested the man on Nov. 1 on a warrant for property damage, and Arnold Police officers attempted to interview him, but he would not talk to them. After that, St. Charles County Police released the man.

Valentine said Arnold Police are seeking charges against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for first-degree stealing.
