A 31-year-old Imperial man was arrested at his home in the 5900 block of Old Lemay Ferry Road after he allegedly tried to hit a 20-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman, both of Arnold, with a car at a gas station. The incident happened at 12:34 p.m. Aug. 8 at the Circle K gas station, 2001 Richardson Road, in Arnold, according to Arnold Police.
The woman told police she had an argument with the Imperial man in front of the store, and he allegedly got into his Hyundai Sonata in the parking lot and tried to hit her, but she was able to get onto the sidewalk and was not struck. Then, the Arnold man came out of the store and started to argue with the Imperial man, who allegedly tried to hit him with the car. So, the Arnold man got a gun from his vehicle, and the Imperial man left the gas station, the report said.
The woman took a photo of the Sonata’s license plate, and police used it to track the man to his home in Imperial. After he was arrested, he was taken to the Arnold Police Station, where he was booked and later released pending application for warrants. Arnold Police will seek charges against the Imperial man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for second-degree assault, Lt. Tom Leassner said.
