A 34-year-old Granite City, Ill., man was arrested in Arnold for suspicion of driving while intoxicated on drugs. He was arrested at 3:14 p.m. June 16 in the 100 block of Richardson Crossing, Arnold Police reported.
Arnold Police got a report from St. Louis County Police that someone driving a 2004 Cadillac appeared to be falling asleep and swerving on southbound I-55. When Arnold Police stopped the car, the driver appeared to be under the influence of a narcotic, the report said.
He allegedly failed a field sobriety test and then developed a medical issue and was transported by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County. The driver was issued a summons to appear in Arnold Municipal Court for DWI-drugs, Lt. Clinton Wooldridge said.
