A 30-year-old man who lives on Mockingbird Lane in House Springs reportedly saw a neighbor going through his unlocked pickup, confronted the neighbor and chased him away. The neighbor ran to his own home and went inside, but the 30-year-old allegedly followed him there, forced open the door to his neighbor’s home and hit him over the head with a baseball bat, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The neighbor was not seriously injured in the June 28 incident and refused medical attention, the report said.
The Sheriff’s Office will seek charges against the 30-year-old for second-degree assault and first-degree burglary, spokesman Grant Bissell said.
The 30-year-old was not at the scene when deputies arrived, and as of July 7, he had not been arrested, Bissell said.
