A purse was stolen from a 21-year-old Eureka woman’s SUV parked along Emerald Oak Court in Eureka early July 21. Three other vehicles parked along that street were rifled through that morning, Eureka Police reported.
At about 2:40 a.m., St. Louis County Police contacted Eureka Police and reported that three men in a black, four-door sedan were spotted in the Radcliffe Estates subdivision in Wildwood. At about 3 a.m., a Eureka Police officer saw a 2015 Kia Sportage parked in a driveway in the 900 block of Emerald Oaks Court with its driver-side door slightly open. The officer inspected the SUV and noticed that the center console and glove compartment had been rifled through. In addition, a purse containing $300 in cash was stolen from the SUV, the report said.
Three other vehicles parked on the street also had been broken into, but nothing was reported stolen from them, Wilson said.
He said Aug. 2 that the purse and its contents had not been recovered, and no suspects had been identified. Anyone with information about the break-ins is asked to call Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
