Cedar Hill firefighters rescued two adult men from the Big River on Sunday (Jan. 12) after their boat stalled.
A bystander called 911 about the men stranded in the river, and the Cedar Hill Fire Protection District were dispatched to the scene at 5:38 p.m., Chief Mick Fischer said.
He said crews arrived on the scene at 5:43 p.m. and both men were rescued by 6:02 p.m.
Fischer said the men were using a boat to gain access to a house along the Big River near Cedar Hill Road, when the boat stalled. One man stayed in the boat, while the other man attempted to walk out and became stranded in the water.
Crews used a boat to rescue the two men. Both were treated and released at the scene by Big River Ambulance personnel, Fischer said.
He said the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene.
