The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary at a home in the 3200 block of Hwy. P in the Festus area. Electronics, cash, weapons and other items valued at $2,500 were stolen, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
The burglary occurred between 11:45 a.m. and 6:20 p.m. July 22, the report said.
It looked like someone forced open a basement-door window to get inside the home. Stolen items included a laptop computer; a flat-screen television; an electronics case containing USB drives; miscellaneous U.S. and foreign coins; two handguns; a shotgun; a BB gun; gun-cleaning items; a metal box containing knives; a grass trimmer; a tool set; two watches; two pairs of women’s shoes; and one pair of men’s running shoes.
As of Aug. 19, no items had been recovered and no arrests had been made, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Grant Bissell said. He asks anyone with information about the burglary to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
