Eureka Police arrested two teenagers from St. Louis this morning (Dec. 6) after the two allegedly stole items from multiple vehicles in the Shaws Garden subdivision, Cpt. Bobby Watson said.
Police were called to the subdivision at about 5 a.m. for multiple reports of thefts. After searching the area for about two hours, an officer spotted two teenage boys coming out of a wooded area near Bald Hill Road and Dreyer Avenue, Watson said.
The teenagers, who are 14 and 15 years old, allegedly were found with items taken from vehicles and were arrested. They were turned over to juvenile authorities, Watson said.
“It has been an ongoing situation in the area,” Watson said. “This appears to be one of many groups who are targeting areas in St. Louis and Jefferson counties. Part of the process is they will be dropped off and find their own way home. That is normally stealing a car; luckily we caught them before they stole a car.”
