A 22-year-old De Soto man and a 20-year-old De Soto woman were arrested for alleged possession of methamphetamine and other drugs at the Circle K gas station, 3611 the West Outer Road, in Arnold. The two were arrested after an employee allegedly saw the man shoplifting in the convenience store, Arnold Police reported.
When officers arrived at the gas station at about 5:30 a.m. Oct. 30, the man was at the store’s front doors, and he had taken items out of his pocket that he allegedly had tried to steal. Officers asked the man how he got to the gas station, and he pointed at a 2011 Honda Accord. A woman was inside the car, and officers allegedly saw her put something under the front seat, the report said.
Officers found a case the woman reportedly had put under the seat, and the case allegedly contained substances believed to be methamphetamine and Xanax. Officers also allegedly found what is believed to be meth and Xanax in the man’s and woman’s pockets, according to the report.
The two were taken to the Police Station, where they were booked and released pending application for warrants. Depending on results of the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the man and woman through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance, Capt. Rich Shular said.
