Jewelry and other items recently were stolen from a home in the 11000 block of West Hill Drive in the Festus area, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports.

The burglary happened between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. July 19, when the victims were at church, the report said.

Someone forced open the back door to the home and stole an Elgin gold and diamond watch, costume jewelry, perfume and cologne. In all, the damage to the door and the stolen items were valued at $1,350, according to the report.

As of Thursday (July 23), the stolen items had not been recovered, and there were no suspects or arrests, said Capt. Ron Arnhart of the Sheriff’s Office.
