A 69-year-old Arnold woman is facing an assault charge for allegedly kicking an Arnold Police officer in the face. The officer was treated at the scene and was able to return to duty after the incident, Capt. Rich Shular said.
The incident happened at about 5:50 p.m. Aug. 31 at a home in the 1800 block of Fox Pointe Drive in Arnold. Police responded to the home to help Rock Township Ambulance personnel, who already were there to check on the woman’s safety after getting a call from someone claiming the woman was intoxicated, the report said.
Two Arnold Police officers entered the home and found the woman on a couch. She allegedly told Rock Township personnel she would fight the police if they came to her house, according to the report.
As the officers tried to get the woman to cooperate with the medical personnel, she allegedly kicked at them numerous times and ended up kicking one officer in the face, the report said.
The officers eventually were able to carry the woman out of the home and help secure her in an ambulance. She was then taken to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, according to the report.
Arnold Police will seek a charge against the woman through the Arnold Municipal Court for fourth-degree assault on a police officer, Shular said.
