Arnold police patch

Arnold Police are seeking a 42-year-old St. Louis man who allegedly stole his girlfriend’s 2000 Ford Taurus after threatening her with a knife outside her apartment building in the 1200 block of Telegraph Road, Lt. Tom Leassner reported.

Leassner said a 41-year-old Arnold woman called police at 10 p.m. Aug. 12 to report an alleged assault, burglary and car theft.

The woman told police she saw the man exiting her apartment with some of her belongings when she returned home that night. She told police the man had not lived at the apartment since April, but he was able to get in with a spare key he had not returned, police reported.

She told police the man grabbed her when she confronted him and held a pink switchblade to her throat. She said the man said, “Don’t worry about it. I will kill you,” according to the report.

The man then allegedly put items he took from the apartment into the Taurus and drove away, nearly hitting her as he left, the report said.

The Taurus is estimated to be worth $4,000, and the stolen items are estimated to be worth $122, the report said.

As of Aug. 13, police had not made contact with the man, and the Taurus and stolen items had not been recovered, Leassner said.

Anyone with information about the man or the incident should call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
