A 48-year-old Hillsboro man was arrested after he allegedly was found at an Arnold gas station with a motorcycle that was reported stolen out of St. Louis County. The man was arrested about 6:45 p.m. July 2, Arnold Police reported.
Arnold Police officers spotted a 2001 Suzuki 600 that did not have license plates on it parked outside the Phillips 66 gas station, 5 Municipal Drive. When the officers checked the motorcycles vehicle identification number, it came back as reported stolen on Jan. 24 from the 2800 block of Blackforest Dive in St. Louis County, the report said.
The man was located in the gas station’s convenience store and was arrested. He already was wanted on an outstanding warrants from Ladue Police for failure to register a motor vehicle and driving without insurance, according to the report.
He was taken to the Arnold Police Station, where he was booked, and after posting bond, he was released.
Arnold Police will seek charges against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for tampering with a motor vehicle, driving while revoked and failure to register a motor vehicle Lt. Clinton Wooldridge said.
