A 43-year-old Arnold man was arrested for alleged possession of methamphetamine during a traffic stop. The man was pulled over for reportedly driving with the headlights and windshield wipers off during a rain storm, Arnold Police reported.
The man was driving a 2001 Lincoln Continental at about 2 p.m. Oct. 24 in the parking lot at Walgreens, 3937 Vogel Road, where it was pulled over. As the officer approached the man, he allegedly appeared to be trying to hide something, and when the officer got to the driver-side door, the man put his hands in the air, the report said.
Then, when the man stepped out of the car, a bag containing a crystal-like substance allegedly fell from his pants. The man was arrested and taken to the Police Station, where he was booked and later released pending application for warrants, the report said.
Depending on the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of meth, driving without head lamps on, driving without using windshield wipers and not wearing a seat belt, Lt. Tom Leassner said.
