A 40-year-old Arnold man allegedly assaulted two police officers following a traffic stop. The incident occurred at about 1 p.m. March 8 in the 1500 block of Jeffco Boulevard, Arnold Police reported.
Officers spotted the man, who was wanted by the U.S. Marshal’s Office for violating federal probation, driving a 1999 Ford Ranger on Jeffco Boulevard and pulled him over. However, the man allegedly cut off another vehicle when he pulled over, and then he got out of the pickup and ran way, the report said.
Officers chased him to a nearby home and cornered him behind the house. The man allegedly attacked two officers before he was subdued and arrested. No one was injured in the altercation, according to the report.
A 45-year-old St. Louis woman also was in the pickup, and she was wanted by Arnold Police and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office on outstanding warrants. She also allegedly had drug paraphernalia stored in a pouch in the pickup, the report said.
The man and woman were taken to the Arnold Police Station, where they were booked and held for other law enforcement agencies. Arnold Police will seek charges against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for third-degree assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, driving while suspended and failure to yield. Arnold Police will seek a charge against the woman through the Arnold Municipal Court for possession of drug paraphernalia, Capt. Rich Shular said.
